This summer has been a hot one, and we’re not just talking about the heat. From Burger Battles, to Pizza Throwdowns, Balloonfests, music festivals and so much more, Metro Detroit brought the heat this summer when it came to community festivals. It’s not over yet, however, as the last few weeks before Labor Day promise to be just as fun as the rest of the summer. So end your summer on a high note at these upcoming festivals in Metro Detroit.

Dragon on the Lake (8/22-8/25)

Downtown Lake Orion comes alive again with the return of its annual Dragon on the Lake festival starting on Thursday, August 22. The celebration of art, community, and of course, dragons will feature a Dragon on the Run 5K, a lighted boat parade, and the opening ceremony of the Dragon Boat races on Sunday morning. Cider Dayze Festival (8/24-8/25)

The fifth annual Cider Dayze Festival returns to Blake’s Orchard in Armada for a celebration of all things craft cider and beer. Over 50 hard cider companies and breweries from all over the country will be on hand with plenty of unique and great tasting drinks. Live music, food trucks, games and much more await attendees too. Hazel Park Art Fair (8/24-8/25)

Fine art of all varieties will be on full display at this year’s Hazel Park Art Fair starting on Saturday, August 24. The art fair highlights local talent from musicians, to artists, performance art, and live demonstrations. Art on the Bay (8/31-9/1)

New Baltimore’s Art on the Bay is set to celebrate its 10th year when its annual festival kicks off on Saturday, August 31. Fine art and crafts such as paintings, drawings, sculptures, woodwork, candles and more will be on display at the Walter & Mary Burke Park. Ann Arbor Blues Festival (8/16-8/18)

Celebrating 50 years, the Ann Arbor Blues Festival looks to have its biggest party yet starting this Friday. The revolutionary festival introduced new blues music and bands to a new crowd, and this year’s festival looks to pay homage to that. Artists such as the Allman Betts Band, Thornetta Davis, Benny Turner, Laith Al-Saadi and many more will be performing throughout the weekend.
